Amy brings 20 years of print and Web publishing experience to the Arukor Communications’ team.  The wide range of her communications skills is the foundation of Aurkor’s integrated marketing communications and design services. Amy’s expertise includes multimedia design and layout, editorial skills, as well as print production and purchasing.

Amy began her career as an assistant editor at Eaton Publishing in Natick, Mass., followed by her work as a senior production editor of a peer-reviewed engineering magazine, Personal Engineering and Instrumentation News, for PEC Inc. in Rye, N.H,. In this capacity, Amy redesigned the magazine, edited and laid out each issue of the publication; she also worked closely with the printer during all phases of the press cycle. In 1999, Amy became a research editor at International Data Corporation (IDC) in Framingham, Mass. There she managed editorial and production work for white papers, research reports, multiclient studies, newsletters, and the corporate Web site. Clients included Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, IBM, and Hewlett-Packard.

Since 1991 Amy has worked as a multimedia freelancer, producing design, layout, and copywriting, and brokering production and printing for clients. Print and online deliverables have included posters, lawn signs, advertisements, banners, brochures, programs, and Web sites graphics. Clients include USAir, Evian Water, InBev, the Dioceses of Boston and Worcester, Vineyard Scripts, Dockside Real Estate, Project Shrewsbury, YES4Shrewsbury ballot committee, and The Junior League of Worcester.

In 2007, Amy partnered with Judy Vedder to combine their talents and expertise to form the multiservice Dovetail Communications.  In 2009, they changed the company name to Arukor Communications, Inc. to avoid confusion in the marketplace. Arukor Communications specializes in Web site design and development, search engine optimization, ecommerce, market branding and full-service print collateral.

Amy has a Master of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Clark University (Worcester, Mass.). Amy also has a Certificate in Digital Multimedia and Web Design from Clark University Computer Career Institute (Framingham, Mass.).

Amy, her husband, and three sons have lived in Shrewsbury since 1992. She is very committed to serving her community as a member of the Shrewsbury League of Woman Voters, a member of the Shrewsbury Oil Assistance Relief (SOAR) program, and an elected town meeting member. Amy is a certified scuba diver and loves to spend her very limited free time at the ocean.
